Garden Fields Dance with Twist&Pulse - A fantastic day was had by all on 1st April in the Harlequin shopping centre, Watford. The KS2 XLR8 Dance & Fitness club had the opportunity to perform and take a small dance workshop with Britain's Got Talent runners up Twist&Pulse, all to help raise money for the charity DanceAid who help orphaned, poor, and exploited children in the developing world, and here in the UK. The children got to perform their routine which they had been learning and practicing for the past 10 weeks at dance club on a Tuesday morning with the help of their teacher Lianne. They arrived at the Harlequin centre for 3pm and performed their routine in front of hundreds of by standers as well as Twist&Pulse themselves. They were then invited to take part in a short dance workshop run by Twist&Pulse. The children learnt some of the duo's signature moves and got to perform this in front of the crowd with Twist&Pulse. A meet and great was then set up with the duo which included lots of photos and signatures. Some of the photos have been posted up on the XLR8 Dance & Fitness website for you to have a look: www.xlr8danceandfitness.co.uk. All the dancers were absolutely fantastic in their performance and all thoroughly enjoyed their day! A huge thank you to all the parents for bringing their children along to the day and big thank you to all that helped out and kept the day running smoothly. The KS1 and KS2 dancers are currently rehearsing for their first big XLR8 Dance & Fitness summer show spectacular taking place on Saturday 14th July at Rudolph Steiner School in Kings Langley where these and many other dance classes across Hertfordshire will be showing us their dance skills and new routines. Tickets for this will be on sale very soon! The dancers will also be performing at this years summer fete on Saturday May 26th at 1.30pm. Come along and show your support! A thank you from Mr Jukes - Thank you to all parents and children who helped with our Nature Area dig! It was a superb effort in clearing many of the overgrown areas and especially in helping clear a very deep pond (we ensured that we saved the tadpoles and the frogs of whom there were plenty). The pond will be cleared further and re-lined during this half term. We will continue in working on achieving our aim of our with the support of "Poppies and Parsnips" and hope that the area will be completed by the end of this term - but it will take a lot of work!
