I have four children and joined the PTA when my youngest two started the school last year and have thoroughly enjoyed the experience. About...

Since having my daughter in 2009, I have worked as a home based solicitor consultant for the London firm where I previously worked full time. I have two children at school in year 2 and reception. I really enjoy helping out in their classes on a weekly basis. With both children now at school and having a little bit more free time, I was very keen to become involved in the PTA. I love being part of the Garden Fields community, and I’m looking forward to helping to continue the amazing work of the PTA.

About...

I’ve always admired the amazing achievements of the PTA since my son joined the school in 2013, from magical Christmas Fairs, quiz/film nights, Summer fetes and camp outs that bring together the Garden Fields community and delight the children, while raising essential funds. This year my daughter joins reception and as I work part-time hours at a local senior school, it seemed the perfect time to sign up and give something back. I’m a keen baker, singer, writer and runner and hope my enthusiasm for pitching in on big projects when the pressure is on, puts me in good stead to join the PTA and continue its incredible work.

About...

My son is a new recruit to Garden Fields, having joined EYFS as part of the September 2015 intake. I am keen to be involved with the school to do what I can to help ensure that my son and his peers get the very best from their learning journey through the school. I am lucky enough to live a stone’s throw away from the school and have been part of the local community in St Albans for over 10 years.  After four years of being a full-time mum I now work part-time for a large local architectural and engineering company.  Before this, I have had a successful career in retail banking and also in education, teaching English (E.S.O.L) at colleges in the North and locally at Oaklands College.

About...

I have been a member of the PTA since my daughter joined reception in September 2012. I have a son starting this September (2014) and another in 2016 – so being involved with the school and its future development is very important to me.  Having worked in publishing for 18 years before having children (including ten years at the BBC) I am  pleased to be able to actively support the school in as many ways as possible now I have more time at home.  My interests include food and drink, films, reading, and travel.

About...

I have 3 children who will all be at GFS by 2017! I am a  Biomedical Scientist by qualification and spent many years working in the Pharmaceutical Industry. I am a bit of a sport junkie and can usually be seen running somewhere!! My middle child has both Hearing and Vision Problems that make learning even more challenging. I wanted to join the PTA to try and add a different perspective for those of us whose children have a slightly different journey through education. The PTA already supports SEN really well at GFS – but sometimes the world of having an SEN child can be daunting – GFS has been amazing in supporting my children and I am keen to try and support the school in return.

About...

Very proud parent of James. I am a life-long local having grown up in Redbourn before moving to St Albans 20 years ago. I run my own graphic design business which has somehow survived for over 10 years now. Enjoy family life, parkrun, cooking, and playing Lego with James. Also keen to keep fit by running, cycling and swimming (occasionally together in a triathlon). I can recommend becoming part of the fantastic Garden Fields PTA Crew to anyone – very rewarding.

About...

After seeing GFS successfully transition my 2 boys to Parmiter’s in the past 15 months, and with my little girl moving into Year 1, I have decided to formally join the GFS PTA, and will lend a hand wherever I can to the school that has been the main feature of our children’s education for the past 9 years.

About...

I have three children who will all attend Garden Fields by 2015.  I enjoy my time being a mum and childminder having been a Legal Secretary in my past life.  I have fond memories of my own mum being on the PTA when I was at school and having a fun time when she helped run and organise events for me and my friends.  This is why I felt it would be rewarding to do the same for my children, whilst making friends and of course money that benefits all the children, for their extra enjoyment during their years at Garden Fields.

Year 5 Rep

About...

I spent 17 years in the retail high street/corporate banking world before leaving when my two girls, Jemma and Aimee, were born, in order to take on raising the twins and making a home for my family. When my girls started at Garden Fields, I learned just how much the PTA do to support the school and how much they needed the help of parents to be successful. As the PTA always need a lot of assistance to help them deliver on all of their commitments for the children, their parents and the school, I decided to join in order to do what I could to assist the PTA in their drive to enrich school life and add value for the benefit of all the children and their families.

I decided to join the PTA because I felt they needed a member of staff.  I currently work in Year One as a nursery nurse and really enjoy it. The PTA raise a lot of money for the school and I felt I needed to help with this.
